Michael Murigi is a distinguished impact evaluation expert and economist, with over 12 years of experience in developing, translating, and executing impact measurement and learning strategies across a wide spectrum of domains including agricultural value chains, climate change adaptation and mitigation, clean energy, youth and women empowerment, financial inclusion, education, and training. His work experience spans Francophone and Anglophone Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United Kingdom. He is currently undertaking his doctorate degree in Economics, and holds several professional certifications in monitoring, impact evaluation, and gendered research.
Awards and Recognition
Michael boasts several awards. Notably, he was honored with the Queen’s Young Leaders Award by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his outstanding work in championing climate-smart rural initiatives that promote the adoption of improved cassava varieties in Kenya. He is also the Great Cambridge Academic Race and Module Winner Prize winner and received the African Economic Research Consortium’s Full MA Scholarship and the Pathways to Leadership for Progress Full Undergraduate Scholarship.
